the n scale

The "N" scale represents a railway line of the Swiss Alps. You have to use a tunnel at high altitude to go from one valley to another. So the trains must go up on one side and go down on the other side. They have to go past three stations; the main station is 5 metres long, which corresponds, in reality, to a station of 800 metres long.
On that 64 m2 model, there is a funicular railway, a cableway, a rack-rail track and a streetcar.
You can see long train sets go by, cross bridges and a viaduct, and disappear in numerous tunnels.
The traffic exists on parallel two-way tracks which means that each track can be used in both directions.
This implies that specific signalling must be put on the bridges.
The
Microscale company sold the necessary material to me.
The track, which is 650 m long (104 km in reality), is divided in more than 200 blocks.
The 200 turnouts and the whole system is controlled by computer, thanks to Mr Gahler and Ringstmeier's programme.
